  • Wonderful place, wonderful people … a place to stay by LEPETIT (Stayed on Jan 08, 2018)

Wonderful :) With my wife and my 2 daughters we have spent 3 nights in the 2 rooms with the private terrasse on the first floor. The breakfast with a direct view on the small fishermen's harbor was a great memory. Maïte and her husband are really wonderfull people with a incredible hospitality. This peacefull place, not overrun by tourists like Vinales, is the ideal base to visit the area. Fishes, lobsters every day ...

  • Casa Mar y Tierra – Puerto Esperanza by Ilona Zimmermann (Stayed on May 14, 2016)

Great food (fish, lobster, rice) + Maite and her family are very very friendly + clean room + big porch / veranda + ocean view / port view + very quiet and peaceful + you can watch the fishermens doing their work + beautiful sunsets / reminds you of a travel brochure ;) + park space for rental car The port in Puerto Esperanza has no beach. You need to take a car or bus for example to Cayo Juitias, which is a beautiful beach and worth the trip. Near the port is a old pier, from where you can jump directly into the ocean. I want to go back.....

  • Destined to become one of the best casa’s in Cuba by Tony Zegarchuk (Stayed on Nov 26, 2014)

We had seen this place a year ago when it was still under construction and were excited to find out it was completed before our most recent trip. Puerto Esperanza is a quiet little fishing village about 40 minutes north of Vinales. No tourists here (yet!) so it was a wonderful get-away! Osmany and Maite have done an amazing job on the casa, with some of the most beautiful woodwork I've seen on the island. Situated right in front of the wharves, the deck makes a wonderful place to sit back and watch people living their lives. Both rooms were impeccably clean and tastefully furnished, and the beds were plenty comfortable. The rooms weren't even the best part of staying here. Cuba is full of wonderful, warm and friendly people, but the owners are in a league by themselves. Their genuine warmth was very touching to experience. Everything Maite cooked for us was delicious! Obviously -- seafood is the way to go here. We'll definitely be staying longer next time. Since both rooms open onto the common deck, this will be a great place to return with some friends. This was our 6th visit to cuba in 4 years, and have travelled the length of the island now. I can honestly say this was easily one of the top three casa's we've stayed at.
