Casa Villa Caricia in Vinales is a nice house, with 9 years of experience in the rent room, it´s located in the urban center of the town, and just two blocks far from main square. Villa Caricia opens its doors to you with a warm welcome offering you a natural juice in every season of the year. The architecture of the house allows you to sit at the big porch to enjoy the beauty of the Microcycas Calocoma known as Palma Corcho, a plant which is a living fossil existing in our locality, as well as the orchids hanging at the garden. The spacious living room, provided with ornamental plants, invites visitors to chat with the owners of the house tasting a nice cup of cuban coffee. The guests will stay in one of the two comfortable air-conditioned rooms with independent bathrooms and private entrance: one room has two double beds and the other one has one double bed and one single bed. At the spacious terrace you will be accompanied by an ancient “cuban pilón”, made of wood, a real heirloom, used to grind coffee and corn and a garden full of plants and flowers, place at which you can also smoke a cuban cigar sat at any of the comfortable rocking chairs or simply taste the delicious “mojito” prepared by señor Roque. At the house you can also have breakfast, lunch and dinner and we are pretty sure that you will never forget Señora Caricia´s delightful dishes. Other options that you can take are the horseback riding and walking tours all through the National Park of Viñales Valley, cycling tours, salsa lessons, massage, taxi service to move around town, or visit the beaches from the western most part of Cuba, parking service, among others, all guaranteed by Dr. Sergio son of the family. A nice place by Lydie & Eric
We enjoyed a lot our stay in Vinales : small village with many restaurants and casas but very pleasant and restful. Villa Caricia was a wonderful place, very quiet and confortable. We communicated a lot with Sergio's mother who was very friendly and helpful ; she was also a great cook ! We were there for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We felt good in that casa !
Good choice! by Piotr Beszczynski
Thanks for all the host family!
One of the many casas in the valley by francesco siracusa
The villa itself it's a very nice place with a great inner court full of plants. Room and bathroom were quite big and bed was comfortable. The thing that I did not like was the atmosphere during our stay. I felt that the hosts kept the relation with the guests very superficial with no real interest in us other than offering turistic services to pay. In other casas we shared living spaces with the hosts and they were interested in knowing about our life in Europe as much as we were interested in knowing about theirs. You do not find this here. In addition, we organized a horse-riding through the valley with them and the horses that they rented us were really in awful conditions (very thin and old, one wasn't even walking right). I said it to the owner of the casa, but nothing concrete came out of it. I asked him whether he could organize for us a taxi collectivo to go to Santa Lucia and the answer was to ask in the streets. Not very helpful, to say the least. Bathroom and room weren't cleaned once during our 3 nights stay. Overall, I am sorry to say that I do not feel like recommending this place.
Costumer response from : Sergio , Owner / Cuba
Good morning Francesco: I am the owner of Villa Caricia in Viñales. I have already read the review that you wrote on the web page bbinnvinales, which comment was already analyzed among the members of our family in order to give an answer to you. First of all, i am the person who welcomes every guest at their arrival to my homestay because i speak English, so i welcomed you, always explainning in details all the offers of the house, as well as the daily room service, including cleaning and victuals, always couting on your permission and petition; even knowing that the normal stay for guests is from two to three nights and most of the customers never ask for the room to be done. It is also a policy of the House not to enter to the rooms unless we are asked to do so and not to intrude once customers are using the common areas, such as the terrace, the porch, the living-room or the room itself, taking into consideration guets´time to relax and take a rest. Probably because of that is that you meant to be trated cursory, despite my parents, Roque and Caricia, do not speak English or any other foreign language, but indeed behaved very respectful all the time. Concerning the horse riding tour all through The National Park, this was arranged with an official guide. Never before we received a complain from previous guests towards the weigh and the age or horses. You did commented that to me but you never asked me to analyze the situation. I spoke with the guide, but i never assumed that you were complaining. Concernig the Trip to Santa Lucía, you only asked to me about the price for the a taxi and i told you that for just two people it would be more expensive, that was why i suggested to you to book for a shared taxi through the agencies on the main street, which would be cheaper. I do not really understand all this missunderstanding. I am very impressed because we talked one each other each day you spent at my house, i even asked to you how were you feeling and you never manifested to be unsatisfied. My parents, as well as me, keep a rule in our home: always demonstrate respect, discipline, organization, cleanness, tranquility and offer a good service to the guests. I just want to give thanks to you for the time you spent writing a comment related to my home, despite i never asked to you to do so and that is something you should have taken into consideration. I want to add that Villa Caricia will continue offering a service of quality to every guest which is something you can check on previous comments from other visitors. I wish to tell you that our House is open to receive you any other time you want to Visit Viñales and we will demonstrate what is written before. Always remember that human being has evolved thanks to communication. From my part i have always considered to treat uncompliances on a personnel way before publishing comments on such an important web page. Sincerely greatful. Dr. Sergio

Good casa with nice hosts and good food by Anja
We spent two lovely days in Vinales. The Casa is really good located just two blocks o ra few hundred meters from main street where also the Vinales Bus stop is. Also the Casa itself is in a courtyard with a little yard so it is really quiet there (except for the coqs who compete every morning for the loudest cry so bring your earplugs =)) and also nice to have dinner, breakfast there. Roque and Caricia are really nice hosts. They don't know much english but with a little signing and some spanish vocabulary you will really get along with them. Also their son Sergio knows really good english and comes by every evening to assist in any matters. We booked a guided tour on horses with the help of Roque. The tour was good yet our guide didn`t know english so if you like some information on the countryside you should insist on an english speaking guide before. The food from Caricia was really delicious. We got a toasted sandwich, eggs and fresh fruits as well as coffee and fruit shake every morning (even the morning we left at 5:30am). Two times we had dinner (one time chicken and one pork) also really delicious and much to much food. Our room had air con and a fan as well as a nice separate bathroom. Only there was no glas before our windows so it was little hard to keep out the mosquitos but that is really the only thing we can critizise about casa Caricia. Otherwise we can really recommend this casa and would love to come back some time.
