Overall we had a great stay at Oscar's. Oscar and his family are very friendly and look after you well. I would definitely stay there again and recommended to my friends. How was the food?
Overall quality of food was great and Oscar and family went out of their way to make it better. -Breakfast were filling, lots of coffee and fruits. If you stay a long time eggs become a bit boring , unless you make huevos a la Marko . -Dinners were hard to finish, great for climbers. I've had langostas in other casas and restaurants, Oscars was best. Pork - wow, that whole roasted pig for new years fiesta was great. How was the room?

At the home of Oscar and Leida, one can expect to feel as if you're family. Oscar, a former teacher, can help you with anything, including what to use for swollen mosquito bites. A hard-worker, Oscar will find exactly what you need, whether its directions to the accessible rock climbing hot spots, or the cheapest taxi ride to the best beaches. The food - just like home, but with REAL potato chips, veggie platters, freshly cut papayas and guava arranged in pleasing circular patterns, the sweetest green tomatoes. The beer was always cold and offered to you the way an old friend would offer it - Buena Vista Social Club - playing in the background...We had the pink room on the terrace. Very private, very relaxing. Unfortunately, unless your Spanish is better than mine, there was no hot water running in the shower. If there were any issues, they were more than happy to recommend you to a nearby Casa that would better suit your needs. As, a cllimbers' hangout , this Casa has a wealth of information regarding climbing areas, directions, where to eat... As a climber himself, Oscar can tell you exactly where to go for the level of climbing you want. People (especially climbers) from around the world intersect here. Sharing ideas, experiences, accomplishments, failures, drinking and making merry. Unforgettable.
