  • Wonderful casa in Vinales by Michael Rawlinson (Stayed on Nov 14, 2019)

"Liset is a wondeful host. Her Casa is on a quiet little path off Rafael Trejo, but quite close to the center of town. Her casa has a very pretty front garden where Liset will serve you breakfast. The guest room is at the back of her house, has a double and single bed and en suite bathroom There is also a roof to relax on, which has wonderful views of the surrounding tabacco fields and magotes. She went to a great deal of trouble to make sure I had everything I needed, helped me rent a bicycle, and cooked wonderful breakfasts everday consisting of two plates of fruit, crepes with lemon and honey, omelettes/eggs, avocado salad, toast, butter, local cookies, mango juice and really good coffee with hot milk, all for 5CUC. Dinner was a similar story and really more food than I could eat. Her three teenage sons were friendly and polite, and she has a very friendly (well fed) dog. But the best thing about this casa is Liset's genuine warmth and kindness. We had long conversations about all kinds of things. When I go back to Viñales in the future, I feel going back to her house will be like going home".
