Casa Smith

For our last 3 nights in Cuba we were looking forward to the pastoral courtyard and great accommodation as advertised. Instead, as we had arrived by car and not bus, our host had filled our spot and took us to her other casa a barebones place around the corner with no atmosphere and minimal services. Our host there did her best, but it was not what was promised. We did not mind changing cases, but there was no attempt to put us in a comparable casa or give us a choice. There are so many beautiful casa's in Trinidad and we went out early the next morning and found a more suitable one but moving 4 people is not an easy task. Finally, we were charged the full price rather than the off season rate that was quoted on our reservation... It was a disappointing end to a 2 week trip with all our accommodation booked through bbvinales and otherwise great service from around the country.

Even if we were pre-warned and somehow ready, when we arrived at Casa Smith in Trinidad and we discovered that our 3 days reservation was not kept , we were very disappointed. We have been driving all day from Vignales and we were dreaming of a shower and a little rest. The owner of Casa Smith had already planned a backup solution with another Casa that we had no other choice than to accept. The new Casa (which I do not remember the male unfortunately) was not good and we were upset but the owner and the family were so genuine and kind so that they were really able to change our mood. It was a real learning for us. Power of Cubans!

We stayed 2 days in Casa Smith with my boyfriend and we would have loved to stay longer!!!
) We arrived in a wonderful house with a nice patio outside, full of flowers, with some tortugas and a parrot quite shy... Odalys welcomed us with her family and the best goyave juice ever! The rooms were very nice, big with 2 double bed and a nice bathroom. Odalys's father, a wonderful man, cooked for us the bests meals we had in Cuba
langousta, chicken, rice, fried banana, fried french fries, flan and the best soup ever. I can't tell you what he puts inside but it was simply mervellous!!!
) And you don't imagine the wonderful breakfasts and best cafe we had !! He also prepared us a picnic to go on the beach Ancon. Hummm we made some people jealous I think!
) The house is very well located in the old center of Trinidad, 10 min by foot from the plaza mayor. But the most important Odalys and her family made us feel like at home. I also got the chance to come in the kitchen and see them prepare the dinner. We enjoyed our 2 days in their paradisiac house. Do not hesitate anymore and book a room there, you won t be disappointed!

Casa Smith, located in the old center of Trinidad, was great! Our host Odalis and her family are very kind and helpful. The bedroom was spacious and there is a beautiful patio with nice plants and birds. Breadfast, dinner and wine were delicious!How was the food?

A beautiful colonial casa with a fantastic patio. Odalis, the owner, was really friendly and helpful. The casa is well located in Trinidad, because is two minuts walking to the center but reachable by car. How was the food?
The food was very good, with large breakfast and dinner with delicious cuban specialities served in the fantastic patio . Odalis had special care for our 5-years old dougther preparing special dishes for her and showing her the pets (tourtles, birds and a nice parrot). How was the room?

We really recommend this casa in Trinidad for a nice staying with kind persons in a unique beautiful town!
