the jewel away from the bustle by Sven Arend (Stayed on Nov 21, 2017)
Mildren and Alexander rent this house away from the bustle of Vinales at the end of a small road. We were greeted by them with a welcome drink and shown the house with all the facilities. The house is a beautiful house with 2 bedrooms a larger living, dining room, facilities to eath in the garden with all the amenities you may require. Alexander and Mildren are perfect hosts and looked after us during our stay. The great thing about this house is that it is away from the touristic bustle of vinales with restaurants close by but tranquility and real country living. You can hike from the back of the house up the mountain and enjoy spectacular views and meet an eremite that lives up there and can explain you about the plants and nature and will sell you some fruit or coffe against a donation. Alexander can organize hiking trips and horseback rides right from the house. Overall a perfect location when you want to escape the big crowds and enjoy real country life. The house is all made from wood and a thatched roof, wooden furniture Fully recommend the location. The bedrroms are a little small but for couples or a family its a perfect location for up to 4 people.
Best Casa of our Cuban holiday by Fred Breuer (Stayed on Aug 18, 2017)
A paradise in the green, when you like a quit Casa and you want to be surrounded by chickens, pigs, goats and the air full with swallows, this is the place to be. The Casa is close to a Hotel with swimming pool and not so far away from Vinales. Alexander is the perfect host , he is taking care of the breakfast and a perfect dinner at your choice. The room is daily cleaned. The Casa has a refrigerator with available drinks. Alexander can organize horse rides, bike trips or anything else which you want to do. Our recommendation is to do the horse ride. We really loved the place and will remember it as the best Casa of Cuba.
Feels like heaven by Vincent van Vilsteren (Stayed on Apr 14, 2016)
We stayed in this casa for two nights and it felt as heaven on earth. The casa is some 300 metres away from the road in the middle of fields and little cottages. The only sounds you hear are chickens, some cows and birds. We were so happy to have chosen this casa and not a casa in the with tourists overcrowded village of Vinales (some 8 km to the south). This is countryside as countryside should be. They even have a private swimmingpool (3 x 2 m), it is very small but as it was very hot during our stay this was most welcome to take a refreshing dive. Breakfast and dinner are served in the garden under this lovely roof. The garden is full of fruit trees. How was the food?
Alexander who is a barman in the nearby restaurant serves a superb breakfast with lots of fruit (also picked freshly from the trees in the garden). The way it is served showed that he is a professional in catering. We had dinner twice (10 CUC)and it was lovely and way too much to eat it all. How was the room?
The room was perfect. We had our own mosquitero. Aircondtioning and the fan kept the room cool. The living room is very spacious and has a tv, that we never used. Other Comments
Mildren and Alexander (they live in Vinales themselves) picked us up from the bus as we arrived by Transturbus from Havana. Alexander then welcomed us with a free fantastic mohito. They also helped us with organizing our bustrip to Soroa (by Viazulbus). Furthermore they organised a taxi with driver for a whole day (50 CUC) and organised a guide that took us up in the mountains to the place where this groop of watercurebelieving people used to live. All in all this place is highly recommendable.
