  • Nice beachfront Casa by Alessia (Stayed on May 02, 2016)

The Casa is located right on the beach in Batey Caleton, the real plus is the eating area by the beach. The sea isn't particularly clean in this spot as it is close to the estuary of the river, but you walk to Playa Larga where the beach and sea is nice. Without a car it's a bit complicated to get around, but Yayime was very helpful in organising a taxi for us to go to Caleta Buena and then for when we left for Cienfuegos. But having a car is definitely a plus as one can easily go to the beach in front of the cenote or Punta Perdiz even just for an afternoon, whilst without a car, and no bus or bicycle or scooter rental, the only possibility is a taxi! Just be aware of the swarms of mosquitos that arrive at night, so have dinner before it gets dark! How was the food?
Breakfast was good and dinner was decent, but not the best of our trip. They seemed to defrost things versus using fresh products and the salad the 2nd day was a mix of the previous day's leftover salad! How was the room?
We had the room to the front of the house, overlooking the street as it had most light, versus the middle one. There was air conditioning and a fan. It was clean but a bit cramped with the double bed plus single bed. The mattress of the double bed wasn't the most comfortable, a bit worn. Other Comments
The owner doesn't live in the Casa but seemingly just across the street opposite the Casa.
