Great Casa in Playa Giron by Yvonne (Stayed on Mar 10, 2017)
The casa is quite central and everything is within walking distance. The outdoor restaurant and bar is very pleasant to sit and read, play cards and just pass some down time after a busy day. Pancho and Teresa made us feel totally at home and nothing was too much trouble.Every request was met with a smile. How was the room?
The room was exactly as stated online with everything we needed for our stay. Other Comments
We would recommend staying at Casa Raudelys and Pancho for your time in Playa Giron, very friendly and hospitable people.
FANTASTICO! by Scott B. (Stayed on Mar 01, 2017)
Great place! It should really be called Maria's - she's the jefe. Pancho and Raudelys provide the ambience, and will stay up late drinking rum and smoking cigars with you if you're lucky. It's the perfect setting to essentially live and interact with some extraordinarily friendly and hospitable locals. (EVERYONE in Giron knows Pancho, and if you know Pancho, everyone knows you. It's that easy.) The family - Pancho, Maria, Raudelys, etc. - live on the premises in the front building (typical for Cuban particulares). Guest rooms are in two separate buildings in back. We were four people - two couples - and each set of couples had our own floor in one building. Highly recommend. There's a small restaurant on the premises with particularly tasty, home-cooked meals for dinner and breakfast. (Breakfast is a uniquely difficult meal in Cuba, so this was a nice convenience.) Our only complaints were minor and endemic to Cuba at large. The power was out for a while and we didn't have consistent running water. If you travel outside Havana it seems this is par for the course. Also, while Maria can be contacted by email (which is how we made the reservation), don't expect timely replies. Reliable WIFI is as hard to find as hot sauce. FIVE STARS!.
Excelente casa en Trinidad by Nawalz (Stayed on Aug 06, 2016)
I will never forget the chats with Pancho in the evening with a good rum and a cigar! How was the food?
Food was very good, a lot of things at breakfast in the morning. if you tell them one day ahead, Raudelys will organize a dinner with crocodile, very good and famous in this area. How was the room?
Room with A/C and private bathroom. Other Comments
Pancho is the owner of the famous Guarandinga, the bus taking all the tourists to the beach in the morning. If you stay at his place, you don't pay the bus in the morning. In the afternoon, with a small amount of money he will bring you to other beaches.
