  • Great stay in Old Havana by RK Family (Stayed on Apr 10, 2014)

Maykel and Lourdes with their young family and helped by members of the extended family were perfect hosts. We were made to feel very welcome. The casa is extremely convenient for exploring the old city. Maykel speaks English and was very interesting to talk to and also very helpful. The rooms don't have windows but there is a very pleasant roof terrace where you can observe Cuban day to day life. Also quite idyllic to eat dinner on the terrace and listen to the music from the bar/restaurant opposite. Would definitely recommend this casa. How was the food?
Very good. How was the room?
Clean, comfortable and fridge included. Other Comments
Worth a visit is the micro brewery where Maykel works.

  • This family run house is fantastic by Sue (Stayed on Jun 17, 2013)

I stumbled across this beautiful casa, with it's friendly and charming hosts by lucky accident. Maykel and Lourdes are welcoming, funny, kind and do everything to make their guests feel at home. After the hustle and bustle of the vibrant city, relax in the evening on their lovely terrace, mojito in hand and listen to the drifting music from the paladar (roof top restaurant) across the street. It's heavenly! How was the food?
Got a feeling Lourdes did more cooking. The breakfast menu was wide and varied and you could choose what you wanted. It was delicious and served on the shaded terrace. How was the room?
The room was large, spacious, with air conditioning, a fridge, clothes horse. As it was entered via internal, semi-open staircase it was cool and relaxing when escaping the sun. Other Comments
When i go back to Havana, I know where I am heading. I am still in touch with Maykel and Lourdes by email, after they wanted to make sure I got home safely. Perfect hosts, who like to join you for a rum!
