Blanca and Juan are the best by Donna Mehle (Stayed on Apr 02, 2016)
We loved this casa for many reasons - the location was great, it was private and air-conditioned, the lounge and balcony areas were just lovely - but most of all because Blanca and Juan are such special hosts. Before we even arrived they were so gracious; our plane was delayed over 12 hours and when we emailed Blanca to let her know, she sent back a lovely note telling us to rest easy, all would be well and they would be waiting for us. It was so reassuring. And they were waiting - even though we didn't get in until 11
30pm! Blanca phoned our host in Trinidad for us to make sure all was ready, gave us great restaurant tips, arranged our cab to the airport for 5am, and shared stories of Havana. How was the food?
Breakfast was not available the days we were there but Blanca made us coffee and we sat and talked with her, which was a real treat. How was the room?
We needed two beds so we ended up in the smaller room, with fairly small beds, but it was air conditioned and comfortable. They only rent the apartment to one guest at a time, so the entire space is yours - the kitchen, bathroom, lounge and balcony. Other Comments

The casa of Juan y Blanca is excellent. You have your own entrance and all the privacy you need. Also you stay in the heart of Havana Vieja and you experience th e real Cuban lifestyle, because you are just one of the inhabitants in the oldest part of Havana. You have the first floor with a lovely balcony. Small, but room enough outside to sit and relax just looking at the people passing by. The building of Juan y Blanca is beautiful with high ceilings. It has the feeling of the 'grandeur'of times long ago. You feel at home and it is very clean.Both Juan and Blanca are very kind people. My wife and I had a great stay and we want to recommend their casa to everyone. How was the food?
We had breakfast once and it was complete. But we prefer to eat outside so that you can sit on a terrace and enjoy the great city of Havana. They don't serve dinner wich was fine by us, because you have lots of restaurants, like for instance restaurant 'Europe' on the Obispo street. How was the room?

it really is a great city so enjoy it, only beware of 'jineteros'. Don't buy cigars on the street and don't take advice about restaurants. You can find everything yourself in Havana Vieja. Beautiful sparkling city full of real Cuban life to experience.
