  • Casa Aleido, centro Habana by Nina Di Dio (Stayed on Aug 11, 2017)

We stayed there only for one day. The house is behind the capitol in a pedestrian zone where a a lot of cuban people, so a little bit original. But it is close to the tourist attraction, too. The house is lovely decorated and the rooms are very different from her standard. She gave us the little room and later she ask if we want to have the larger one. But we stay only for one night so we don't wanted to change. The large one was with view to the pedestrian zone with large windows and seemed to bee really nice. The smaller one has no windows. But people were nice in the house.

  • An experience of the good kind by Anders Hecquet (Stayed on Feb 25, 2016)

Very special place. It is true that the place has steep stairs and many iron gates. Also that the rooms looks like something from a burlesque scene. But the owner and his family, w ith their little English, are the most kind and helpful people in Havana. Three young guys help carry our suitcases from the car and to the rooms. The location is right on the city pedestrian/shopping street with the atmosphere to follow but also the noise if you have the suit facing the street. It is clean but worn down. Safe parking can be arranged for 7 CUC/day. The famous lobster dinner by Aliedo lives up to expectation and with plenty for half the price of the nearby restaurants. Breakfast was good with eggs omelet, ham, fruit, toast, coffee and fresh juice.

  • A sty in a slum by Dominique (Stayed on Dec 03, 2015)

Horrible and disgusting. The house (if you can call it like that) is a disaster. You have to climb 2 steep staircases without any help. Do not touch the banister because it is not fixed into the wall and you keep it in your hand. 3 locked doors in lattice-work that block the free passage in the house. How to get out in case of fire ? Electrical cables and wires without protection. You have to touch the fuse to switch on an old device that has to be an airco. An iron not fixed box should be a safe deposit. No cupboard to put your clothes. How was the food?
We only took breakfast. More than poor. You have to sit in the kitchen where 2 locals are staring at you. They do not ask what you want or what you like. They bring a plate with scrambled eggs, cooked bacon, a part of cheese. Butter is from the previous guest. 1 cup of old coffee per person. When you ask for a glass of water, they bring you a 50 cl bottle that you have to pay for. Bread is old and hard as stone. You also get a plate with some fruit. How was the room?
A sty. A double bed and that 's it. We were afraid to unpack our suitcases. No window in that place but 2 connecting doors to the rooms of the neighbours. An airco that makes more noise than an airplane. Bathroom with only cold water, has to be shared with other guests. Very nice that you have a 100 liter bin where you have to throw in toilet paper. Very unhygienic and unclean, just like the room. Other Comments
Owner makes noise (partytime ?) till 4 AM so no nightrest. We did not feel safe in that house . They certainly think that tourists have to be strained like lemons. We would not recommend this casa to our worst enemy. We were ashamed that we have to go in and out of that house and were happy that nobody knew us.

  • Great location to stay n Havana by Marc & Tatjana (Stayed on Aug 17, 2015)

The house is big with a lot of rooms and personnel to take care of it. The personnel was very friendly. We had a flight in the evening and we were al lowed to stay in the room until late in the afternoon and take shower before leaving which was highly appreciated. They also arranged a taxi for us. The location is great being the beginning of pedestrian shopping street just next to the Capitolio and Grand Theatre so we could walk easily to Havana Vieja and take a bus tour from the square in front of Grand Theatre while seeing the center full of Cuban people on the other side. Comparing to other houses in Havana and Cuba we thought the price/quality ratio could be better though. How was the food?
We had none. How was the room?
Spacious, with airco and a wardrobe we could lock and use as a safe, filtered water available for use. No windows, however, bathroom about 30 meters away, fridge available in the kitchen.

  • Great hospitality, location and facilities by Inessa Dvizova (Stayed on Dec 30, 2015)

I stayed at the Casa twice - at the beginning and end of the trip. aleido is very warm and hospitable making sure you are super comfortable. He took the initiative to connect me with my friend who was staying at another casa so was difficult to arrange the meeting, making sure everything went really well during my stay. On the way back I returned earlier by a day and he made sure I had a room (and an amaising one too!). How was the food?
Only had breakfast but it was delicious - lots of fruit, eggs, coffee etc. How was the room?
I had one of the best rooms during my stay - a full ensuite with kitchen and living room at the highest level with am amaising view of the Capitol - best view in Havana! Other Comments
would stay there any time! Plus you get wifi at the terrace!
