Our favourite place to stay by Marina
We stayed at Rafael's and Mari's house at the beginning and end of our journey to Cuba. We have been welcomed so warmly and Rafael, Mari and Elizabeth were so caring the whole time of our stay. We loved enjoying the big breakfast and having a nice conversation with them in the meantime (besides, Rafael and Elizabeth speak English). In the evening, we loved spending some time on their roof top terrace where you could calmly watch the sunset or the houses and streets around you. Thank you Rafael, Mari and Elizabeth for being the best hosts one could ask for! Marina and Sarah
Very nice casa in Central Havana by Inez Germeys
Casa Botello is a very nice casa in the Havana Centro. We rented two rooms on the top floor of the house. One was an apartment, with a kitchen, seating area, bathroom and bedroom. The other was a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. One floor up was a nice roof-top terrace. The rooms were basic, yet nice and clean. As the rooms were on the second floor, you have to take a steep staircase to get there (Rafael was very helpful with carrying the luggage). The location of the casa is perfect. The street is very nice and it is on walking distance from both Habana Viejo and Vedado. The biggest plus of this casa is its owner, Rafael and his family. They are very friendly and helpful. They also provide a very extensive breakfast, with lots of fruit! We definitely would stay here again!
Experience genuine Cuban hospitality by Catherine Castelain
Rafael, Maria and their two daughters are a very kind family. They will do anything in their power to make your stay easy and comfortable. From very late check-in to lending you a power adapter. Situated outside the main tourist hub but within walking distance, it's a great place to experience true life in Havana. How was the food?: One of the best breakfast we've had in Cuba and dinner was also excellent. Try it at least one time if you're staying a few days. How was the room?: Clean rooms and private sitting room. Other Comments: Very steep staircase, unsuitable for people with walking difficulties. For the others, you won't regret staying there...
Great! by ALENKA MERHAR
Everything was very nice and clean. The owners are very nice people. Since it was our first time in Cuba, the owner explain us everything we need to know. He helped us with transportation to Vinales and to the airport. His wife is the best cook. She prepered such a good breakfast! Location is good, you have to do some walking to the Old Havana, but you are basicly on Malacon. I recommend!
A great place to stay! by Bjorg
We stayed in Casa Botello for two nights and had a really great time there! The house has a great location
it is in the center of Havana, only a few minutes walk from the Malecon. The apartment we rented in the hous was also really good; you have ypur own Little living room with sofá and chairs, your own bathroom and also a kitchen! In the refrigiator you find the things you need for a good Price
juices, water, beer. And the bedroom has both airconditioner and a fan. We had a good night sleep here. And, when it comes to the hosts they are also very very nice! Rafael is very service-oriented and friendly. If you dont want to spend a lot of time planning, Rafael will fix you up with bus-tickets and a list of nice houses to stay in around Cuba. He is very positive and a really nice guy to talk with! He made us tea and coffe and we had a good time with him
) On the morning, when we needed to take an early bus he even made us coffe and followed us to the Malecon to find a taxi. We were only two nights in this apartment, so if we come back to Havana we will definetly stay at this place again. The location, the apartment and the host are all great! -Bjorg.
