  • Very nice casa, but beware of door locks by James Zegarchuk (Stayed on Nov 25, 2019)

This is the nicest of 5 different casas we've stayed in while visiting Habana. The family is very friendly, and the rooms are nice, bright (at least the upstairs rooms) and clean. I would definitely consider staying again, but there are two things you should be aware of: 1) our friends stayed in room 5 while we were in room 3. Our room key, as well as the front door key, could open the door to room 5. There are no safes in the rooms, so this is a serious security concern. 2) when we arranged for a taxi to the airport at 4 am with the owner, instead of booking a licensed taxi he booked a friend (or someone he gets a commission from). If the police had stopped us at a checkpoint on the way to their airport (and there are often many), we would have been screwed. He also told us it would be an extra 10 CUC (instead of the usual 25) for a taxi that early. I spoke with government taxis at the airport after we arrived, and they said we could have booked with them for $25. Something to be aware of!! I would recommend walking up to one of the government hotels the day before and arranging your own taxi.

  • Great experience by Maria (Stayed on Jun 21, 2017)

We love this Casa. The location is amazing, in a typical street with a lot of artists. The owners are very sympathy and the breakfast was really good. The city is more than we expected and the price of one night is very good. I really recommend it.

  • Casa Calderon – Great Place to Stay As a mom traveling with her two young adult children, all I can say is What a great casa in the heart of Havana Great breakfast and hospitality with a lovely family. • No need to look further by Tarkan (Stayed on Sep 01, 2016)

This is a great place to stay in Havana, located at five minutes walking distance from the Parque Central. Our room was very clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The hosts Gerardo and Mabel are fantastic people; always there to help with a warm smile. We were charged for a few breakfasts that we actually did not have, but surely this was an honest mistake, as on the other hand I was not charged for numerous delicious Cuba Libres that Gerardo fixed for me. The only downside I can think of is that the airco was very loud, so make sure to bring your earplugs with you. Internet is a drama anywhere in Cuba, but you get access to a neighbor's wifi in the late evening hours at the balcony, which was yet another plus. How was the food?
We only had breakfast there, which consisted of egg, cheese, pastry, butter, jam, fruit, delicious fresh juice, and coffee. Nothing fancy except for the juice, but definitely good enough. How was the room?
Very clean and spacious. Other Comments
Thank you Gerardo and Mabel. If I visit Havana, I will stay there again.
