  • Very special experience with a Cuban family We were received with great friendliness. Marylin and her family integrated us in her family life and we were able to meet various locals and nice places in the area. They were always very attentive to respect our privacy but also giving perfect service. How was the food? by Hans Ludwig (Stayed on Jun 05, 2016)

Excellent We were able to order any time and they served all dishes we requested. How was the room?
    - All facilities necessary, very clean, freshly repainted, private bath and entrance. Other Comments
It's one of the very special casas in Cuba. Marylin has a long experience with western culture and also visited Germany herself.

  • Disappointed Casa Marilyn We found casa Marilyn very disappointed. We stayed there for 3 nights. We saw Marilyn just one time by the arriving. We are used to a social host, which she was not. How was the food? by Leo van Selst (Stayed on Jul 18, 2016)

For breakfast she asked 5 CUC which we found to much for what we received. There was no butter and no tea. We only got some fruit, bread and there was no other toppings than one scrambled egg. At dinner, there was no dessert. How was the room?
The refrigerator and the ventilation were broken. It was very hot and we could not keep our drinks cold. Other Comments
We where separated from the family and we did not feel welcome.

  • A DISASTER by Jeremy and Elaine Fisher

This casa is a very long way from the bus station and difficult to find, especially if you are carrying a backpack. It is situated in a run-down unpleasant part of Matanzas, far from the centre of town. When we finally found it, n obody answered the door for some time. When it was at last opened we were not invited in, but told to wait outside in the street while the owner was looked for. After hanging around in the street of this scruffy neighbourhood for some time, we decided that in view of the welcome we had received and the unpleasant surroundings we would find another casa. We were setting off down the road when Marilyn emerged and announced that the casa already had someone in it, but that she had another place for us not far away. This despite the fact that you had reconfirmed our booking the day before. By then we had had enough and had no wish to walk any further. You say that Marilyn said we did not arrive. This was a lie on her part. We don't think it's good for your reputation to have this casa on your website.
