  • Great hosts and the best food (we had) in Cuba! by Jamie & Celia (Stayed on Jan 22, 2017)

Modesto and Gloria were great hosts. They helped us organise anything we wanted (hikes, horse rides, trips to the beach etc.). The best meals we had in the whole of Cuba! Fresh fish, lobster and great fruit. Always helpful and happy to make us sandwiches too for our hikes/coach trips. The room itself was located in a cabin at the back of the house with a great view of the fields and mountains. It feels nice and private and has a great porch to read/play cards to relax on and watch the chickens. Thanks again. Jamie and Celia.

  • Amazing stay at this cute little cabin by Stephan (Stayed on Jul 25, 2017)

We stayed in this amazing little cabin in the back yard of Modesto and Gloria and used it as a base camp to hike around the area (tip: http://diytravelhq.com/parque-nacional-vinales-free-diy-hiking/) and excursions to Mordia La Gorda and Levisa. We stayed for 4 nights and had dinner at cooked by Gloria 2 nights and the food was amazing. Of all the casa's we have had dinner, the food here was without a doubt the best. Out of the city centre, but only 10 minutes walk away, and in a quiet part of town.

  • Really nice casa with lovely owner by Lisa (Stayed on Apr 11, 2017)

Modesto was such a generous, helpful owner who made our stay a really great and unforgettable experience. From all of our casas particulares during our Cuba trip, we liked it most there because we felt at home and warmly welcome. Another great thing about the casa is that it is a little bit off the noisy and crowded main area in Vinales, so you can relax at the veranda without heavy traffic. How was the food?
Lovely made, plenty of everything and with fresh fruits from the garden. How was the room?
Funny experience to sleep in a Bohio, the only disadvantage is that it is a bit poorly soundproofed, so you hear a lot of noises from animals around at night.

  • Great place to stay! Modesto has set up a wonderful traditional Bungalow, with a terrace opening on a small garden full of birds and flowers. How was the food? by Denis Michel (Stayed on Feb 28, 2017)

Excellent and copious . Mariu is a talented and generous cook, she learned it from her mother. How was the room?
Very clean and well furnised. Other Comments
El Bohio is a place we warmly recommand . Modesto and his wife are very attentive and helpful hosts. We took a great pleasure in discussing with them ( Modesto is an experimented agronomist and will teach you a lot on his environment)

  • Basic but wonderfull!!! by Sannen Geert (Stayed on Aug 04, 2015)

Charming casa, almost in the country (behind cornfield, before bananaplatation) but only a few minutes from the village! How was the food?
Modesto made the breakfast with a lot of love! How was the room?
Basic but so charming with the roof in thatch and the lovely balcon with rocking chairs. We adored this autentic casa. Other Comments
Modesto and his family are really nice people. They have the hart and the right place and they are the most honest people we met in Cuba!
