  • Very Disappointing! by Dawn Speakman (Stayed on Jan 17, 2016)

We had this accommodation booked due a change in our original accommodation that we had booked months prior then told we could only stay 3 days not 4. As we wanted to rest for 4 days we agreed to a change and we were sent while on the road the photos for this Casa. It looked just fine. On arrival we realised that the photos did not match the place we had been shown. I refused to stay as it was not an apartment but a very shabby unkept room under a house. Nothing about this place was up to any standard. I have travelled globally and I had stayed in some places as one can imagine but at least that was what I expected. Stay here at your own risk to what the photos stay. Ifelt very sad for the hosts but to place photos that do not represent what is available is going to bring disappointment. After contacted the agent that had booked it for us we were not received with welcome and moved to another place that was not actually much better. We left Varadero the day after as having n o access to phone or internet we had no opportunity to arrange anything that was of better standard, plus we were continually told there was no accommodation available.

  • The room we got does not match the photos here by Ana Lisica (Stayed on Dec 29, 2015)

The room we stayed out does not match the photos here. The one showed here looks much better. Our rooms were at the back of the house, small, very humid, not very clean. In the end we slept there only one night - so we managed. But, it's not nice to show pictures here that don't match the reality. How was the food?
We had breakfast. It was ok. How was the room?
The rooms were small, the beds were in a really bad shape.

  • Warm and wonderful stay in Varadero by Jenny (Stayed on Feb 28, 2015)

Our hosts Hector, Hector and Fefrita were incredibly gracious, helpful and informative in every way, and did everything they could to make our stay an incredibly enjoyable experience. How was the food?
We can't recommend the food enough. The breakfasts and dinners were of massive proportions and beautifully prepared. The best deal in Varadero, and the best way to try quality, fresh Cuban fare for sure! How was the room?
The room was lovely, definitely worth the price we paid with a private kitchenette and bathroom. Other Comments
Though the location may seem far from the waterfront, this turned out to be a blessing as it meant that we got to walk through the neighbourhood on our way to the beach, which we would never have done if we had stayed in one of the many resorts on the beach. Also, though the shower wasn't the most high-pressured thing, from what we heard from friends who had stayed in a resort where they had all sorts of problems with their showers and toilets, our bathroom was probably on a better end of the scale in Cuba!
