  • Nice place to Stay by Maria Laranga (Stayed on May 31, 2017)

I spent three nights at this house. I have no words to describe the kindness, generosity and excellent treatment of the family and the house staff. For me, my family in Santiago de Cuba. The house was extremely confortable and clean. The breakfast is just delicious! Thank you Nivia and family.

  • Highly recommended by Lee Man Wah (Stayed on Jul 06, 2016)

We are from Hong Kong and our Lee family stay in Santiago de Cuba for 5 days, Nivia Melendez and her family is extremely nice ,friendly and helpful, especially her mother, she is really lovely and funny elderly although she did not speak English but we can communicate in body language. We have a good time in this casa and this city. I will say if you want to know more Cuba and the life style, you need to come to Santiago de Cuba, you will see the big difference between here and Havana. I will say you will love this city more than Havana. How was the food?
Tasty breakfast and dinner, especially the soup How was the room?
This casa is over hundred years; there is lot of stories in this lovely casa that you can ask them. The room is clean with two comfortable beds, our bedroom on the top level of the house and looking down onto a beautiful courtyard. If you have good luck you will see sunset. The balcony with chairs also has very pleasant and relaxing times. Other Comments
Good location, quiet and near everything, around 10-15mins easy walk to center. Around 20 mins walk to the bus and train station. Don’t worry to walk too much, that is not too far away. There are many Cuba life style things you can see. I stay in Cuba one month and travel around Cuba from west to east, I will say this is one of the best casa,i am highly recommended. By the way I want to say something about this B&B website. This is a good website and the staff is really helpful. I have stayed in Cuba a month, I booked all of the casa in this website, they are really helpful, not only about the casa information, also travel in Cuba information. They reply my email always very fast and gave me many useful information. So I also highly recommend this website. I hope you will do better and better.

  • Great Casa in the Heart of Santiago de Cuba by Heidi Hartmann (Stayed on May 04, 2016)

This Casa is located in the heart of Santiago de Cuba - walking distance from many of the sights and attractions. An extended family welcome you into their home and look after you here. How was the food?
After you've tasted Beatriz's traditional Cuban vegetarian food you will know how good it can be. Excellent quality of food prepared really, really well. How was the room?
We loved our spacious bedroom on the top level of the house and looking down onto a beautiful courtyard. The balcony with chairs also made for some very pleasant and relaxing times. Newly renovated bathroom and fans and air-conditioning made for a very comfortable stay. Other Comments
It is easy to see why this is such a popular Casa - it ticks all the boxes and many extras such as excursions and a laundry service are on offer as well. A trip up into the mountains with Pedro and Esteban was also all arranged with apparent ease by Beatriz. We loved our time in Santiago de Cuba.

  • First Casa in Cuba and off to a good start! by Coral Westlake (Stayed on Nov 12, 2013)

A very welcoming family with 3 generations to meet. Great location, only 5 minutes walk from the centre. How was the food?
We were treated to a good selection of fresh fruits, bread, eggs and fruit juice for breakfast. How was the room?
We had the upstairs room reached by steep stairs at the back of the house but well worth the climb. We had a large room with a balcony, small en-suite with good shower and total privacy. Other Comments
Nothing was too much trouble. They enlisted a friends help to take us to a baseball match. He helped us buy the tickets, made sure we got in okay and then collected us afterwards. Next day he drove us to a hotel so we could collect our hire car. Great introduction to a Casa experience.
