  • This Casa is excellent for a wonderful vacation in your Cuban “home away from home” by Phil Gardner (Stayed on Jan 12, 2019)

This Casa is owned by a lovely Cuban couple…Eva and Ruxlan. When we were there we had the run of the place as this couple treat their guests like part of their family in every sense of the word. Both of these hosts speak English and were very helpful in arranging several activities of recreational and cultural interest for us in Spanish with the locals, both in Pt. Esperanza and in nearby Vinnales. The cost for these activities was very reasonable ! Their Casa home is large and spacious with a nice main bedroom and a quiet sitting area/ living room that opens onto a beautiful large veranda that gives one a good view of the interesting street in this very quaint town of Puerto Esperanza. There is also another quiet private area in the back that is covered but open to the outside where you can sit on comfortable rocking chairs and have your morning coffee or read a book undisturbed. The eating area is in the back and also covered but opens to their gardens. Eva is a superb cook who presented us with a very big breakfast each morning that included freshly squeezed jugo…fruit juices, a tasty omelette and various breads and fruits etc… Dinners were very filling and very tasty as well... with a wide choice of meats, poultry and seafood and nourishing veggies, etc ! We cannot say enough to express how pleasant and relaxing our time was in Pt. Esperanza especially with the superb kind of hosts that Ruxlan and Eva are.

  • Nice Casa by Andrew scholes (Stayed on Aug 19, 2016)

A great casa - best food and hosts on the island. Eva was a great cook and we enjoyed three great meals in the covered private terrace. As hosts Eva and Ruxlan made you feel comfortable and we're very helpful and honest, helping to arrange transport and plan trips. Sitting on the front veranda In a rocking chair is a great way to wind down for an afternoon.

  • Estar en familia by Jorge (Stayed on May 01, 2017)

  • Wonderful time with Eva & Ruxlan by Joan & Jerry Sutton (Stayed on Mar 06, 2017)

We spent a wonderful week at Villa Mar y Esperanza with Eva & Ruxlan. If you want to see what life is really like in Cuba, this is the place. They are great hosts and the town is special and unique… the people were all so warm and welcoming. It was so interesting to sit on the porch and watch life go by… the main transportation is horse or horse and cart. We loved it and I recommend it to anyone. We had use of an entire Casa including living room, dining room and bedroom. It was a special and unique experience during our recent trip to Cuba. How was the food?
Excellent and plentiful. How was the room?
    Clean and comfortable. Other Comments
We miss Eva & Ruxlan and I know we will remain friends thru the internet.

  • Our favourite stay in Cuba by Maya (Stayed on Nov 28, 2016)

Staying in this casa really made our trip. We had a lot of space in the beautiful house and it's yard area, so we could hang out by ourselves playing cards etc or we could chat with Eva and Ruxlan. They are such kind and warm-hearted people and we learnt so many interesting things about Cuba - they are really integrated into the local society and were happy to answer our questions. The dinner table is in the nicely decorated back yard. How was the food?
Very tasty, and they were happy to accommodate our preferences (the pumpkin was delicious!) How was the room?
The bedrooms have lovely old dark wood furniture. The only minus is the mattresses. Other Comments
We have great memories of staying here and all the laughs we had .
