  • Overpriced by Patrick Fagan

We found the town a very interesting place and would recommend it. Unfortunately our stay at the casa was not the most enjoyable. The prices compared to Canada we great, but compared to other casitas in Cuba it was not. For dinner we were giving the choice of lobster or fish, and both were much higher in cost than other dinners we had. We had laundry done here and it cost $12CUC and only $3CUC at another casa. The father sat down with us at our dinner and tried to sell us bundles of cigars. Although we politely said we did not want any he continued to sit for 15 minutes with us hoping we would buy the cigars. This place ended up costing $30CUC more than our least expensive (and great place) that we stayed at, but the worst part was the constant attempts to sell us more stuff. How was the food?
    Average. How was the room?
    Average.

Very warm welcome. Puerto Esperanzas ist a quite place. Good for feeling the original Cuba-spirit. However not much to see or do. Good for travellers with car
