We loved our stay in Matanzas. The city itself wasn't that spectacular, but the casa was perfect for us. Our own little house in the back garden. The lady was very sweet and helped us with everything. We would definitely come back here!

The casa is located in the very southern part of the city, at the end of a side street (not so easy to find, but locals know), next to a river. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the main square. Hilda was the most welcoming of all our hosts in Cuba and this casa was just so peaceful and lovely! How was the food?
Breakfast was delicious and plenty. Hilda would prepare varied fruit, ham and cheese and egg. The best thing about food in this casa, as in the rest of Cuba, is that it tastes amazing. How was the room?

We fished in the river (although with no luck) and spent a beautiful day just in the casa because we loved it so much. If you drive on your own (like we did), it's not the easiest place to find so ask the locals if you get lost (or get one of them to take you there like we did). Onze gastvrouw Hilda is erg gastvrij. Liet ons ophalen van het vliegveld en regelde een volgende casa en de bus (Viazul). Het eten was excellent, de kamer en de casa een klein paradijs. Volgend jaar gaat we beslist weer naar Hilda. Our hostess Hilda is very welcoming. We were picked up from the airport en she arranged the next casa and the bus (Viazul). Food was excellent, room and the casa a kind of paradise. Next year we certainly go back to Hilda.
