  • De nuestro viaje a Cuba recomendamos Hola Cuba by Basilio y Silvia (Stayed on Jan 05, 2017)

  • Best (of 6) Casa we stayed in while in Cuba by Charlie (Stayed on Mar 01, 2017)

This was a welcome change from the hostal we endured in La Habana Vieja. Alejandro, his brother Michel, and their parents made us feel welcome and certainly showed us a great time. They were wonderful hosts. Breakfast and dinner were offered and both we delicious and cost the standard 5 & 10 CUC. We sat with the family in the living room and talked, laughed, drank rum and smoked cigars. Both Alejandro and Mitchel speak English well enough to carry on a conversation and help us find what we were looking for. We also bumped into them while sightseeing and they pointed us to an excellent restaurant for lunch. They even walked us over to the restaurant. They helped us find / buy cigars and local rum. When we arrived, the local area was having a power outage, meaning there was no electricity in the casa. I decided to lay down and read for a few. Alejandro brought me a flashlight so I could read without me even asking or mentioning it. They did not offer a stocked refrigerator (some casa / hostals do) but helped us find the supplies that we needed. The rooms were clean and well kept. AC worked well. The bathrooms were newly appointed and clean. I really enjoyed my stay. I would recommend Hostal Hola Cuba to anyone that asks. I believe that it was a great value and would stay there again.
